HMBA Race 1 and AGM Re-scheduled

The first round of racing and the HMBA Annual General Meeting that were washed out in January have been re-scheduled for Sunday 14th February 2016 at Awaba.

We will also be holding our Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 8:30am, 14th February 2016 after the XC registrations have been closed and before the XC race starts.

The AGM is important for us all so that we ensure there is an active and effective committee representing the wishes of you the members. We traditionally struggle to get enough members along to hold the AGM, so I encourage you to make the effort and be involved. We’ll be speaking about what we have achieved over the past year and looking forward to what we want to achieve over the next 12 months. If you want a say in the future direction of the club, whether it be racing, trail development, social rides, other events, come along and have your say.

We’ll also be electing our executive committee for the new year, so if you want to get more involved, or have a say in who makes the decisions for the club, this is your chance! Positions that need to be filled include: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Apart from the executive positions, there are general committee positions. We really would like to boost our committee numbers this year and try to get more people doing more stuff. We definitely need a social ride co-ordinator, someone to manage Facebook and the website, Kids race co-ordinator, women’s ride co-ordinator, etc.
Without a committee the club ceases to operate.


DATE: Sunday 14th February, 2016.
TIME: Registration 7:30 -8:00am. Race to start at 8am.
RACE FORMAT: Set number of laps around the kids / development course.
GRADES: This is aimed to provide a participation event for young children up to approximately 12 years of age who are not competent to race on the full track.
COST: Junior Riders (14 Years and under) - Free. However, the child must be an MTBA member or purchase a day licence ($20) or sign up for the free trial licence **.


DATE: Sunday 14th February, 2016.
TIME: Registration 7:30 -8:30am. Race to start at 9am.
RACE FORMAT: Set number of laps – to be advised Sunday morning once the track has been set.
GRADES: Men: A, B, C and D grade and Juniors.
Women: A, B, C and D
COST: Senior Riders (over 18) - $15.
Junior Riders (15 – 18 year old inclusive) - $10.
Junior Riders (14 Years and under) - Free.
+ $20 Day Licence for Non MTBA Members **

PRE-REGISTRATION: If you think you will be there for the race, drop us an email to with your name, grade you want to race in, and your MTBA number and we will put you in the computer for the race. This makes it easier for us on race day, and also quicker for you. When you get there on Sunday, you can jump the queue, cross you name off the pre-registered list, pay your money, pick up your race number and you are ready to go. If something changes and you can’t make it there on race day, then it’s not a problem.

VOLUNTEERS: If you can help out on the day with timekeeping, it would be most appreciated.

TIME: Registration 8.30am to 10am following the AGM in the main carpark.
Shuttles Start 9.00am
Racing Start 12.00pm.
LOCATION: AWABA: Track - Monkey
COST: $30. MTBA Members (Please have Licence at sign on) + $20 Day Licence for Non MTBA Members **
VOLUNTEERS: If any Mum, Dad or friend is able to give us a hand with timing, driving shuttles etc, please see the guys at the sign on tent.


This will take place immediately after the AGM and will be based on the pointscore for 2015.
