Hi Everyone, Due to the current fire danger and the ever changing fire situation in the Heaton / Awaba area, the committee has made the decision to move racing to Killingworth for this round, We held off as long as we could with this change in the hope that we would not have to move venues, but unfortunately the fire is still burning so we have had to move venues. Thank you for your understanding.
To access the event centre, turn right into The Boulevarde, Killingworth and follow for several hundred metres before turning left onto the first unmarked dirt road on the left, BEFORE you reach the power sub station. Follow the access road under the freeway then right at the T junction and another several hundred meters to the event centre. If you have a car with low clearance it is better to park on the road and ride in to the event centre
KIDS CROSS COUNTRY RIDE
DATE: Sunday 17th September, 2017.
TIME: Registration 7:30 -8:30am. Ride to start at 8:30am. (Note that this is before the main XC race, and will be on a different course and will be run by a couple of the committee members – the help of any parents or other family members would be appreciated).
LOCATION: Killingworth
RACE FORMAT: Set number of laps around the kids short course.
GRADES: This is aimed to provide a participation event for young children up to approximately 12 years of age who are not competent to race on the full track.
COST: Junior Riders (14 Years and under) – Free. However, the child must be an MTBA member or purchase a day licence or sign up for the free trial licence**.
HMBA CROSS COUNTRY RACE
DATE: Sunday 17th September, 2017.
TIME: Registration 7:30 -8:30am. Race to start at 9am.
LOCATION: Killingworth
RACE FORMAT: Set number of laps – to be advised Sunday morning once the track has been set.
GRADES: Men: A, B, C and D grade and Juniors.
Women: A, B, C and D
COST: Senior Riders (over 18) – $15.
Junior Riders (15 – 18 year old inclusive) – $10.
Junior Riders (14 Years and under) – Free.
+ $30 Day Licence for Non MTBA Members **
VOLUNTEERS: If you can help out on the day with timekeeping, it would be most appreciated.
DOWNHILL
DATE: Sunday 17th September, 2017.
TIME: Registration 8:45am to 10am.
Racing starts 12:00pm with the option of two timed runs for those who want a second go.
No Shuttles! Killingworth is a walk up track
LOCATION: Killingworth – Long track
COST: $15. MTBA Members (Please have Licence at sign on) + $30 Day Licence for Non MTBA Members **
VOLUNTEERS: If any Mum, Dad or friend is able to give us a hand with timing, driving shuttles etc, please see the guys at the sign on tent.
*** T shirts will be available to try on BEFORE racing starts, come and try one on to confirm your sizing for the new club t shirts. Please try the shirts on BEFORE you get all hot, sweaty and dusty from riding.
