You’ve been charged… 😄
If you made it here after reading about solar-powered e-MTB charging stations at Awaba Mountain Bike Park – we owe you a quick confession.
It was an April Fools’.
The Hunter Mountain Bike Association couldn’t resist having a bit of fun with the idea of trail-side charging stations, pivoting solar panels, and our “world-first” 5-head universal adaptor.
We hope it gave you a laugh, and maybe had you wondering for just a moment if it could be real.
Why we do it
Each year we try to come up with something creative that reflects where mountain biking is heading, while keeping the community engaged and entertained.
Following on from last year’s memorable tyre sealant ban, this one was right up there.
The serious bit
While the charging stations might not exist (yet…), the work we do is very real.
Every dollar raised goes directly back into:
- Building and maintaining trails
- Improving rider facilities
- Supporting events and the local MTB community
- Expanding what’s possible at Awaba
