On Sunday, the Hunter Mountain Bike Association hosted Round 3 of the XC races at Awaba Mountain Bike Park. Despite some concerns about the weather, with rain the night before and a few small showers in the morning, 46 enthusiastic racers braved the conditions. The track was muddy and slippery, adding an extra layer of challenge to the already demanding course set out by Dean. Riders displayed exceptional skill and resilience as they navigated the tricky terrain, with several sections requiring careful maneuvering to avoid mishaps. The conditions had some riders questioning if, they were in fact, racing in Crans Montana, Switzerland.Â

Before the race, the club held its Annual General Meeting, setting the stage for an exciting day of competition and community engagement. Overall, the event was a great success, highlighting the riders’ determination and the club’s commitment to fostering a vibrant mountain biking community.
